7. Child protection & TinkerWith_ Lab
TinkerWith_ Lab prototypes — including tools for Robotics & AI curriculum selection — are designed for use in educational settings with children and young people. We take our responsibilities in this context seriously.
7.1 Data minimisation for young users
Our tools for young learners are designed to collect no personal data from children. They operate as self-contained, session-based tools with no user accounts, no registration, and no persistent storage of individual learner data. Where a tool requires any form of input, it is used only within that session and is not transmitted or stored.
7.2 Parental and institutional consent
Where a TinkerWith_ Lab product is deployed in a school or institutional setting, responsibility for appropriate parental or guardian consent rests with the deploying institution, in accordance with their own safeguarding policies. We provide clear documentation to support institutions in fulfilling this responsibility.
7.3 No behavioural advertising to children
We do not engage in, enable, or permit behavioural advertising, profiling, or targeted marketing directed at children under any circumstances across any of our products.
7.4 Content safety
All TinkerWith_ Lab content is reviewed for age-appropriateness before publication. We do not include external links, social features, chat functions, or user-generated content in tools designed for children without explicit safeguarding review.
